Hello,

I've just broken my Philips CDRW 2010 writer and thing to buy a new CDRW 2412 or 2410 which is at a good price.
The problem is that the 2010 has a RAW DAO 96 mode and the 2410 - 2412 has RAW DAO 16 mode but allow correct EFM encoding.
I never had problem to make copies of PS2 with the 2010.
Considering the RAW DAO 16 mode, is the 2412 or 2410 going to make the job as good as my first writer ?

Thanks :)

PS: As you have already understood, I use CloneCD.

RAW DAO-96 is a must for exact 1:1 backups using CloneCD

Have you thought of perhaps buying a Liteon drive?

Thanks Paul,

So I forget the 2412 ?:(
It seems strange to me because it looks like an higher end comparing to the 2010. But in the Clone cd list, the best mode for this one is RAWDAO16 !
The best one is a Liteon tu use with Clonecd ? I don't want to buy a high end stuff (just want to make working back ups - speed no matters)

Thanks guys

you can pick up a decent Liteon cd burner for around £50 :)

Unfortunately from here a LiteOn is hard to find (Belgium) and all I could pick up apart from a philips 2412 is : Asus CRW 5224A , AOpen 48x12x50, Plextor or Sony.
The Asus 5224 seems to accept RAW DAO 96 + Correct EFM encoding when using Clone cd !
Any comment or experience ?
Thanks

If it writes RAW DAO 96 & correct EFM encoding..... Go for it..... You will not be dissapointed......
