Briefly:
Plextor is well known for it's excellent quality, reliability and customer service. Although it is not capable of perfect EFM coding (can't copy Safedisk 2.51 and above without a bit of help from the software)

Lite-on is a cheaper cd-writer and is well known for being able to copy most copy protections with ease. It does not match Plextor on it's quality and reliability however.

The choice is yours...

just remember tho that the pleccies have a 2 year on site warranty no quibble!!which could in theory mean as many burns as you want to do in 2 years if you where that way inclined:D
