I need to know what ver. of PS2 I have. I think it’s a V5 but I wanted to check with the experts first before I went and bought a modchip. My model number is; SCPH-30001 R, was I right in thinking it’s a V5?

Thanks

What model of PS2 do I have? Well here's how you tell.

8 Screws at base of PS2 Version 4,5 and Electrical warning stamped on the bottom.
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U0
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U1
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U2
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U3
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U4
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U5
USA SCPH 35001 Version 4 = GT3 Edition
There are 3 Motherboards for the SCPH 30001R Version 4 and 5 and 6

This may help...Unfortunately the V5 is not as easy to determine.

Okay I just looked at my PS2 again, and it does have 8 screws and the electrical warning stamped on the bottom, but my S/N is FU06*****. And the barcode on the back is PT30*******.

Thanks again,
