I just got my ps2 back from Freedomlives.com but I can't get it to boot any DVD games (Dvd+r or Originals). I keeps saying Disc Read Error, and Is the eject light supposed to be on while it's a DVD game?
Also while booting cd-r games, is the playstation2 logo supposed to be messed up?

Is there some way I can fix this or do I need to contact Bill?

I got a brand new v7 Ps2 with a magic 2 chip and I'm using Verbaitim DVD+r disc.

What are you using to burn the dvd's with? Also, once your ps2 starts up, when it says Sony Entertainment, it reset. Then it should boot. That is if you burned it right.

My bad, HIT reset. Not "it reset".

I used recordnow max and nero to burn DVD games. I tried what you said and I'm still getting Disc read errors.
When it's reading, it makes a loud whriling noise that gradually rises, and should original dvd games boot as they would in a normal ps2?

i'd be getting in contact with wherever u sent it to to find out what they've done and how come it wasn't checked when they sent it back to u

I sent it to Bill at http://www.freedomlives.com/. Since so many people here recommended him, I thought that would be the best place to send it.

I had him install a magic 2 chip in my brand new v7 ps2.

well then get back in touch with him and explain your problem. That's what warranty is for. I assume that he gives a warranty on his work.

I sent him some email telling him about the problem, but I was reading on some other boards about a screw or something on the laser that changges the way it reads dvd and cd. If I turn it, does anybody think that might help the problem with my ps2 not reading dvds?

get back in contact with Bill and he will sort it for you, I would advise you not to touch it yourself :)

i would have to agree with psx_paul, don't touch it at all. I like i said, u should have a warranty with Bill. Screw with the inside of your console and he's got every right to make it void.
