tools for creating cracks

I'm new to creating cracks for games and usally rely on others to make them for me. I did a search and cant find a post stating what tools are used to create a crack. I want to make them for the games I own because I'm lazy and dont like putting the cd in all the time. If any one can help me and give a list of tools or programes I need to create cracks I would appriceate it greatly.
