I have no prob with soldiering and what not, I'm just not sure if my PS2 is V4 gap or V4 no gap. I'm pretty sure that it is GAP but I cant remember the difference. My PS2 is model # 30001, date code1a, serial U3278884.
Also I was wondering where is a good place to mount the chip? i've seen pics of it mounted on th flat part of the board in between the usb ports and the video out. This looks to be the ideal place, but I'm just afraid of the metal that I will have to replace over it touching the chip (tho I could use tape to insulate the chip). Also, the points to soldier to are on the opposite side of the board and would require long (~5-6 inches) wires. Will using wires of that length have any effect on the chip's usage and/or effect?
