can you boot playstation one backups? if you can't then the boot procedure is wrong. Remember you have to put the PS2 on standby (off by pressing the reset button for about 3 sec). Then to switch to DVD/PSX mode you have to press the reset button untill the blue light comes up on the eject button.

Don't trust me ehh..... :D

Here is a direct copy and paste from the OFFICIAL MAGIC 3 WESITE......(which is the same as I have posted)

With the disk assumed in the tray and the tray closed:

• For PS2 games, power up normally from STANDBY with RESET button. A single tap is required.

• For PS1 games & DVD Movies, power up from STANDBY with RESET button held until the blue EJECT light comes on; then release RESET and the disk will boot.

• Please turn off the PS2 (to standby) before changing Mode (PS1/PS2/DVD)

Are you holding the Reset button long enough??? UNTIL the blue Eject light comes on???????

Did you install the chip yourself?
I would check all the soldering points to see if maybe a wire was solder to a wrong place, cause I don't think that's supposed to happen.

Original games should boot like a normal game.. The reset should boot backups....

yes i does... it workes just like it would without a modchip!(the light ie RED on stanby is the only difference). except i cannot use dvds/ps1 games!

I'd uninstall the chip m8 & then test it again. Theres a piccie of a magic3 install on my webpage.
