i`m still having problems findin a patch that lets me go on B.net
i got War 3. but someone stole my cd. still got my own cd-key and the case. its been so long i miss my B.net friends.
plz help this girl gamer

Let me know ur current version first please.
For details, check for a patch.log in ur game folder.
Then, I'll try to put ur version's Virtual Crack and the latest version into my briefcase.
You need these, so that you can connect to B.net and download the update, before restart the game, switch back to windows, restore back the war3.exe. After restart, put the latest Virtual Crack inside, and start the game normally.
Or, if u'r having the original war3.exe, and there's offline updater for latest version, then I'll only need to put the latest Virtual Crack.
Download the version 1.04 update patch from this Blizzard Official Patches Page (http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=mwr0642p)
Then, try to understand and get the virtual crack named "gruwar3vcr104.rar" from this post:

Update, and extract the rar to ur game folder... overwrite...
note: war3.org is the original upgrade exe, while war3.exe is the virtual crack (or so called loader)

No matter whatever now...
Just grab that "gruwar3vcr104.rar" and extract those war3.exe and war3.org to your game folder, overwrite and you are done.
Oops, GCW still don't have the Virtual Crack for v1.04...
Anyone able to help send the "gruwar3vcr104.rar" to GCW?

What v3688e said should have worked, but the "gruwar3vcr104.rar" you need is a specific crack that's a bit hard to find at the moment, so I suggest we try a different one. Could you download this file (http://www.megagames.com/cgi/download/download.cgi?action=download&category=cracks&mirror=1&search=WARCRAFT.3.104.BILDO.NOCD.ZIP) ? When you are sure you've got 1.04, first rename the war3.exe in your warcraft 3 directory to war3old.exe, then decompress the files in the rar archive you downloaded into your warcraft directory. It should work now, but if it doesn't or anything here is unclear, tell me and I'll see what I can do.
Now to the subject of the cd itself. You should start looking for a replacement from somewhere, a simple backup copy from one of your friends should suffice, I hope you can get one ? The reason I suggest this, is that although you have a valid cd key, the next time windows has to be reinstalled or something like that, you need some installation media to be able to reinstall warcraft III.

If by some mirical you are telling the truth you need to contact blizzard and they will send you another for a small fee

This was all about playing online on Battlenet. As you should know, this requires a valid, unique serial key. She's got that. My explanation was totally unnecessary and useless for warez users, it's for people with a valid serial key who want to play on Battlenet. This means that this case fell within the board rules (http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27215), since she obviously has bought the game. Personally, I take their word for it if people claim they have bought the game, as long as there's nothing contradicting their claim. I encounter and report anything up to a dozen warez users on some days, but only when I have some proof they are indeed using warez. SailorNeptune has never dropped a hint that she was anything other than speaking the truth, and you can only play on Battlenet with a valid key. This is enough for me to convince me she's legit. Please try to not jump to conclusions too soon in the future. I appreciate that you're helping enforce the rules and keep this board clean, but as you can see it's not always easy to draw the line.
