It says they work with ALL backups...now does this mean it also works with PS1 backups? I've been hearing that Swap Magic doesn't support PS1 backups...is this true? Anyone know?

The 1st thing in there statement is FALSE.......... It does NOT WORK with ALL backups.......This has been talked about quite alot over the last few days..... There are certain games that it WILL NOT BOOT...And they are newer games, which means more than likely as more games come out, the more games that these disc will not boot......
Don't know about the PS1 backups..........

Just save yourself alot of trouble and get a Messiah 2.... Then you don't need anything else....Just put the game in and it plays.....

I'm using those Swap Magic discs with a no-solder modchip. It handles all CD-R backups and DVD-R backups. I thought those chips worked just as good as the soldering ones like the messiah except that they are more of a hassle since you gotta keep swapping them all the time. You saying that the new games won't work with the modchip I'm using or you just saying that the swap discs will eventually get phased out by newer games? TIA

yeah hes right. Im pretty sure messiah 2 costs a little more than a magic 2 and a magic 2 should work almost as good as a messiah 2. Free shiping at www.playthegames.com on magic 2. If you are going to buy a messiah 2(which is the bast) e-mail charlie_ps2 or dust2dust.

I think you misunderstood...I'm not using the Magic Chip I'm using the Swap Magic Discs.

No they don't work as good....Yes...They are a very BIG hassle...
Some of the newer games will NOT BOOT on your system using the Swap Magic Discs and the no solder mod.....

What I'm saying is that if there are a few games out now that the no-solder/SwapMagic will not boot, there may be alot more that it will not boot as newer games come out.....

It is confirmed that all backups dont load with these boot disc's. You may as well purchase a AR2,GS2 to boot backups as well as a Hi TOC dvd original if you are going to stick with this mod. By doing this you will be spent enough already to have purchased a messiah+install.
Some lessons are hard learned. The no swap chips cannot be beat. Buy a messiah2.

Here are 4 games that someone confirmed DO NOT WORK with the swap disc/no solder combo...

David Beckham Soccer (NOT WORKING)
Prisoner Of War (NOT WORKING)
Pro Evolution Soccer 2 (NOT WORKING)
Britney’s Dance Beat (NOT WORKING)
