Does No-CD Hacks slow game?

Was wondering if no-cd hacks would slow down a games performance in any way?? Like like in a multiplayer game or anything like that, thanks.

no way, it only goes faster because it don't need to search for your cd.
sometimes splash screen etc are gone, it only can go faster, never slow down

In fact, when Morrowind first came out, there were people who installed a nocd crack ONLY because their framerates almost doubled when they used it.
