WELL. i wasted plenty of time and money figuring this out.
I actually bought all of these games and the copy protection still screwed me for some reason. Damm you microsoft!
So i took it all back to the store and got new copies. And sold those on ebay. nuts to micro$oft! Screw me. screw them!
SO. here it is. how to get the clan and is packs into mercs. At least one way! With the iso/bin copys.
Install mw4 vengeance to c:\mechs DO NOT RUN GAME
Install the point release update patch. DO NOT RUN GAME
Install clan and is paks to c:\mechs DO NOT RUN GAME
Install mechwarrior 4 mercenaries to c:\mech\ It will complain. Use the dir name c:\mech\ <-ending slash. It will install.
Now get the safecast fix utilitys from microsoft. Rename to .rar and use winrar to extract both to c:\mech. Overwrite any files.
Run both batch files. It will say the license is fine and quit.
Copy the cracked mercs exe files from your iso/bin mercs cd#2.
Fire up mechwarrior 4 mercs and enjoy what you should have paid for!
I imagine i could have done the same to get what i PAID for working. But at this point im way too pissed off. Screw them i hope they all rot in hell for eternity for this mess.
