I'm a fellow PS2 Gamer from Oregon. Where do you purchase your TDK media? I've been using verbatim for CD-R's and princo for DVD-R's. They all work fine but games like GTA 3 that load on the fly will probably work better on TDK. (I get the problems with the game not being able to keep up and thus not loading parts of the game) I have bought some TDK but they have been very expensive. I also have some more ?'s after you answer this one. Thanks!

I do not use TDK, I use Verbatim. I bought my last batch from buy.com You can check them out here (http://www.buy.com/retail/computers/product.asp?sku=10314220&loc=15837). Better price than retail stores. Fire the questions away.:)

I use Princo branded WHITE label dvd-r's and ALL games (and movies) work fine for me... Even GTA 3.....

I have also used Verbatim and TDK..... I can't tell any difference in gameplay, loading speed, or anything when I use the Princos...

I have used the unbranded no label Princo's and they suck....

You know a good place to buy a V7 PS2 for $150 here in oregon? I can buy a version 7 for $200 at walmart. Trying to save some money on the console so putting a messiah 2 in it won't be as expensive. Also did you get your console from lik-sang? I got a console from them pre-modded with an apple chip. They said it was supposed to be V7 but it is actually a V4. I'm pretty sure it is. Just wondering. Thanks for the media answers. Also since you have the same chip as me I was wondering if you have gotten some of the games that I have to work on your system. Some games don't work on mine.

I bought 200 of the white label princo's and they work great. (Great price for DVD-R's too) Haven't made a coaster yet. For GTA 3 I used the unbranded princo's and I have gotten the problems with the on-the-fly loading. Maybe I'll try to reburn it. Also, when do you expect to get your messiah 2 from charlie? I'm probably going to get one from him too.

I did order a premodded ps2 from lik-sang but 2 days after I ordered the whole lawsuit thing happened so I never got it. I bought a new v7 at Target and an Apple chip from modchip-sbox.com and sent it to Bill in Chicago to install it. I have only had it for about a month so I only have a couple games so far. So far so good. What games are you having problems with?

I want to buy a messiah 2 from charlie or dust, then buy a V7 PS2 and then send it to bill for the install. What can I expect to pay for each part. Chip w/shipping, PS2, sending it to bill and the install cost. If you don't know the mod price and shipping that's okay. Mostly interested in Bill's prices. What did you pay all together? I can send you a game that is bogus on my system and you can see if it works on yours. Thanks.

Thanks for all the help!! $359 is about what I was expecting. Big hap, just e-mail me an address that I can send the game to. That would be great. Oh, one last quick question... Do I want to find a US V7 to put the messiah 2 in or a V6? Found a V7 at Walmart. I'm heard some different things about US V7 and the messiah chips. Thanks!

I don't believe there is any real big difference in the v6 and v7. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Besides, I don't think you will find a v6 in stores anyways. I don't think they made many of these. Thanks for pointing out the typo Paul:)
