Its true if you have a modchip installed you won't be able to go Xbox live as of now. Xbox live checks your bios for its orginal, because you can get the "go live" screen, but can't get online. If you wanna keep your modded dashboard remember not to let it update anything, because even with your modded dashboard (after putting it back on) you still have your live settings in the memory even if your ms dashboard doesn't display live settings. So if anyone knows the fix for the bios, inquiring minds need to know.

I am getting the Matrix Chip, and am concerned about this. I found a chart at http://www.xodus-chip.com in the middle of page that says something about switching these two files. Verify, contact me if you can, and maybe we can get this bug squashed. :|

They mean that you can use software to switch the xbox dashboards. In order to copy games, you need to switch what the xbox boots to, if you try to go on xbox live with it switched, your xbox crashes, and sometimes gets nuked.

That table was a lauphing stock and even posted on front pages in most xbox sites. Go here for a better table. X-ecutor seemed to correct it.
