View Full Version : Trying to use PrimoDVD with my Sony DRU-500A DVD drive

Hey all,

I am trying to use PrimoDVD to burn a global image file to my Sony DRU-500A drive. Only problem is that the primodvd software doesn't recognize the drive. I'm guessing the issue has to do with the PX engine, but I tried updating with several ones I found on the net and still no luck. Can anyone verify that PrimoDVD does work and recognize the new Sony drive? Any suggestions?

A friend of mine has your drive, he uses Record now max, It works as well as primo dvd.

The Pioneer A05 has the same problem. The PXEngine update does not work for it either....

Like Warlock said, Record Now Max is almost identical to Primo except it has a few extra features.....AND it works PERFECTLY with the Sony DRU-500A & Pioneer A05. :)
