Swap Magic Boot Disc?

While I am trying to get my backups to work - I was wondering if anyone knows whether the Swap Magic boot disc is any better at booting DVDrs than the Action Reply 2V2.2??

The Swap Magic boot discs DOE work with both ps2 cd and
dvd based games, but not completely.
On the dvd side of things it will not boot games such as.
Hitman 2 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2 and there could well be and
most likely will be others.

It will boot games such as.

Lord of the Rings 2 Towers.
Extermination.
Soldiers of Fortune 2.
GTA 3.
Medal of Honour.
Star Trek Elite Forces.

Along with plenty more.

On the cd side it will not boot any game that has the PAL/USA
selector option such as those produced by Kalisto which are illegal copies anyway.

It will boot all direct backup copies of the originals.

Methods of booting include.
The knife trick. (Including version 7 consoles.)
The left handed swap.
The use of the No Solder Mod Chip To open the tray.
Neo's and AR2 and/or Gameshark etc.
The package comes with two dics (dvd) and (cd).
This is just a brief look at what the Swap Magic discs are about and it's up to each individual to decide wether there for them.
Personally give me my Messiah any day.

Argo - Thanks, wow a very comrehensive reply, I know they are slightly cheaper than the AR2, but they dont give you all the cheat code options!! I think I'll stick with my AR2 (was having problems booting anything, but I may be getting the hang of it!!

I agree about it being better just to get a decent modchip, I'll have to save up! Thanks again

There's supposed to be some sort of exchangable moulded plastic
external ps2 casing being mass produced that will enable the playing of all backups but the haven't arrived yet so haven't seen one are can't comment other than the above.
It does make you wonder what they'll think of next though!!!
What about a CHARLIE and his MATE clone chip
that will call on every one on the forum, supply and fit a
MESSIAH 2 for nowt!!!

I have an Ace Key mod and the Swap Magic discs (from www.videogamecompany.com).

In my experience the cd disc will NOT boot 80min backups, and as I have no dvd-r I haven't tried that disc at all.

I can't seem to boot my 80min CDr bakcups with my No solder mod swap methods but CAN with the knife trick. Unless its because I burned them with Nero (?). Maybe I should try CDRWin or Clone CD (?)
