How to no- cd patch

first I used the search function but couldn`t find an answer so sorry to bother you all with such a basic question.I have age of empires 2 and the no- cd patch.I just don`t know how to apply the patch.As you can see I`m very new to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Make sure it's the same version as your installation, if necessary patch the game to the right version with an official patch. Then just extract the .exe file in the archive and look for the same named exe file in your installation directory, when you find it, just copy the cracked exe over the old one.
