Answer to question 1:

The +R format will work on some ps2's... You will have to try it and see.
You cannot use the -R format with your drive..:(

Answer to question 2:

To burn CD based games, ALWAYS use Clone CD and a 100% compatible burner.....

I don't think I will since Dvd- & +r's are Expensive in Ireland:(

What version PS2 do you have.... The +R format can be read in V5 or higher.... (Not all, but most)
If you never try 1, you will never know if you can or not....

Yep, i got a ntsc v5 that seems to read +r media quite well. Try it, you wont know til you do.

This stupid old moderator who's the subject of a confidence vote has posted a specific article on the DVD+R subject in one of the factoids.

I've got a v4 pal ps2
But i'm not going to try because dvd+-r's are so expensive in Ireland

If they are so "expensive" that you won't even try 1, how were you going to backup games if you found out the +R format would work???
It probably won't matter anyway because you have a V4, BUT you still will never know unless you try....

I'll give it a try then
What game would work best with Dvd+r's
Well €30 for 3dvd+r's are expensive, yes

Well does it matter if the dvd is full of scratches
because that's why I'm backing it up

I'm sending of my payment for my messiah 2 pro:D

hehe, yeah it matters, its quite possible that your drive wont be able to read it properly if its full of scratches ;)

Always take care of your games :)

Most scratches will polish off if you use a finishing car polish and a soft cloth to polish. I have done this and saved many originals that way.

Deep scratches will not always polish off.
