View Full Version : Third Party Sound Systems Any Good?

Sorry, me again!

I was wondering if some of the third party sound systems for the ps 2, such as Creative Playworks, Logic 3 Soundstation, and Kinyo Universal game speaker system are any good.

They seem to be more cost-effective, save more space than the non-ps2-specific sound systems, and can be plugged to other electronic media such as vcd, dvd, and cd players.

The questions is, are they reliable -- quality-wise and performance-wise?

I'm no audiophile, and I'm not all that picky about sound quality, but I at least expect the system to perform as it says in the box, and if possible, bring out the potential of the ps2. FYI, I'm now playing ps 2 games with a mono-aural tv, so anything better IS better. :)

Thanks, I really need some help here

They are good yes. I have heard a couple of these things. It should tell you on the box the output. Usually it is watts or RMS. The higher this value the better. I would get one if I were you, especially if you only have a Mono TV. I am lucky. I have a NICAM TV. Sometimes I don't realise how lucky I really am...

A million thanks for the reply, Lufcfan!

I'll be getting the Intec 3D surround sound system, since it come with a subwoofer and seems to be the most affordable one among the others. Plus, the review in amazon.com was pretty good, except for the rather short cables.

Thanks again :D
