I know that there are types of no solders or one wire solders etc I know that some will boot psx cds without swapping and I think some will play rips and or dvdrs so my question is if you can combine these to get the effect similar to that of an internal modchip any input would be appreciated

Its not worth it!!!! By the time you buy a no-solder, a neo key and everything you need to play backups you will be spent more than a no swap chip plus install would cost you.

Actually the No Solder chips in conjunction with the New Boot Magic Discs boot cdr and dvd-r backups no problems

No Solder chip $25 approximately

Boot Magic Disc $25 approximately

Total $50 installed.

Man.... Some good arguments I guess Im gonna have to break down and send off my ps2 and have it modded Or I might do it my self depending how dificult it is

any one might have an idea about this say that I modded My playstation(original) without any problems do you think i will have any probs with a messiah 2 or magic 3 ( oh and which is preffered Ive heard they are "clones" of each other )

Im not positive on that. But if not I know how to make smaller rips and I know a place that has a lot of patches for already ripped games to make them smaller (if wanted).

I was just posting that there is a cheaper and fairly good way to chip your ps2 without many of the hassles of before.

I agree with you Tyler, I was just thinking if the new boot disc has a higher toc than GS2 then it is better to boot backups with. So far i dont know anyone who has the magic boot disc so if anyone out there knows what the TOC is please post it.
