My problem is my ps2 won't play the backup i made of fifa2003 PSX I tried different boot methods but it doesn't work :( (other PSX and PS2 copies work fine). Do you need to patch this game like you do for PS2 EA games with a universal patcher?

edit: I boots till the PSX logo comes and just hangs there.

what mod chip have you got
what method/programs are you using to back up the game?
depending on mod-chip, what boot method are you using?

First time i just put it in and it loads to the bootlogo and freezes there, if i put the cd in shut it down for +5 seconds and then putting it back on its the same.

Neo 2.2 on a 35004, pal version.

btw Bust-A-Move PSX backup runs.

ok, so you are booting it correctly, what programs are you using to back it up?

CloneCD ???

or CDRWin / Nero ???

CDRwin, i copied bustmove with cdrwin too (i think).

I ripped it to a bin/cue and load it in cdrwin (without a patch, but you don't need to patch psx EA games?)

if your burner is supports RAW DAO-96 (check www.elby.de) use CloneCD for 1:1 backup, using CDRWin I think you need to patch EA games. get patches from www.megagames.com

hope this helps

Make sure the disc you are trying to copy is completely clean. I had a brand new game that had a small smudge on the bottom that I didnt notice. And after I copied it the backup didnt boot past the ps2 logo.

I then cleaned the disc and recopied and it booted fine.
