To mod or not to mod

Ok heres the deal I want a ps2 and I should be getting it here shortly and I was wondering if I should mod it. Now I know this sounds like a retarded question but heres the deal I modded my psx and it was moderately difficult. So what Im afraid of is paying 60 bucks for a mesSaih 2 and screwing up the soldering (not to mention a perfectly good ps2) and there is no1 where I live or near where I live (usa) that could mod it for me. And I believe the magic is 22 or so wires isn't. Sounds kinda hard to me

oh and one more thing could some one briefly explain this whole rip kit thing is it not possible to dub a ps2 game with a dvd burner sorry for the newb question

Yes.... The PS2's are hard to mod.... You live in the USA.... SO Not to worry.... Just box up your PS2 & Chip and send it to Bill @ freedomlives.com (http://www.freedomlives.com) ... It will only cost you about 15-20 bucks to ship it to him (He's in Chicago)..... He is VERY good..... AND comes highly rec.....

Yes its possible to copy a PS2 game using a dvd burner... Ripping is when people don't have a dvd burner....(long and involved)
Get a dvd burner and forget about the ripping....:cool:

Rip Kits themselves are not that hard to use, BUT remember, there is not a rip kit for EVERY game....
You can pick up a GOOD dvd burner for around $300.00...
The problem is when you have a "ripped" game, ALOT of mod chips don't like to play them....
If you stay with direct 1:1 copies you would be much better off....:cool:

Oh ok I see man I can't wait to mod this bad boy I believe I am gonna send it off to get modded I don't want to screw it up. I assume there arent any no swap no solder mods or plugmods and if there arent are there any that allow you to bood ps1 cds without swapping.

ALL of the no-swap mods basically require 23 wires to be soldered. No such LUCK on a plug-in no swap.....:(
