View Full Version : Fifa 2003 Extracted, has (FI) file?
I just extracted Fifa 2003 from Paradox and it is a (GI) file.
What is a GI file? This is a first (GI) for me. I have no idea what
to do with this one. Been doing this for a long time. Anyone got any ideas, or em i missing something?
These are the files:
PDX-Fifa2k3 (11).gi =2 gig
PDX-Fifa2k3 (12).gi =1 gig
PDX-Fifa2k3.gi =1kbyte
These are image files of RecordNow burning software. I think it used to be called Primo DVD or something like that. If you have the software (Usually comes with your DVD recorder use the burn from image option. :D
Thanks for the Heads up.
But this kinda sucks. I was hoping it would be a .iso so i
could extract it with xIso and ftp to my Harddrive. Dam you
Paradox. Time to get a dvd burner now.
I'd think, you could just us the program to change it to iso format, don't need the drive for now. Not sure as I won't bother when I can walk down the street and get XBox backups for a few dollars. Try P2P, like Kazaa, or eDonkey or DC++. I'm sure you can get RecordNow there.

I have the same problem.
...So I renamed the longest GI file to fifa.iso and then extracted it with xiso programm. Xiso extracts only 450 Mb of data then stops. The rest of files I extracted manualy with XDFSreader. Now I have 2,1 Gb of files but for some files I don't know where they belong. (I have few empty directories).
Perhaps could someone with DVD burner read directory and file structure of fifa an put it on forum.

Andrej
Well i found out what uses this. It's PrimoDVD that uses the .gi file. I found it here.

Does anyone know if you can convert this to a .iso file?

Yo can convert it with Gi2ISO. I can send it to you. I converted it but without success. If you will find a solution, let me know.

I couldnt try it at the time but maybe tonight should beable
to. If you do, let me know how you made out.
Im just shocked that Paradox did this. Caught me off guard on this one.
I ended up getting a DVD burner and burned it using Record Now software. I just used the smallest file as if it were a .cue for cdrwin and that was it. Works and plays fine.
I read that people have alot of trouble using GI2ISO, so i dont know how much luck your gonna have convert it.

Hey duggie.
Nice to hear that you can play FIFA.
I have a question for you. I'm buying dvd burner myself but dunno which dvd media is ok for xbox. maybe you can give me an advice. Is your fifa loading slower or the same speed as you would expect from original game. do you use dvd rw+ or something else?
I just got the new Sony burner that does both formats, dvd-r,w and dvd+r,w. Both work just fine in the xbox. It plays just like the original. I have a 120gig Hardrive in my xbox and wish i never got now cuz the burned dvd's play so good. I could of saved $145 bucks.
There is no differents in load up speed or playing time from the original to a burned dvd! I use Sony and TDK media so far, so i dont know how cheaper media will do. I know they work but how fast im not sure.

I succesfuly extracted fifa 2003. It runs like hell. You have to combine two largest GI files, without he short one.
in dos window: copy /b fifa2003(11).gi+fifa2003(12).gi fifa.iso You get 3 and something Gb ISO file.
After that run xiso (must be 0.8, prior version can hadle only <2000 files) and extract fifa.iso in new directory. Copy all the files to xbox HDD. It Works!!!
