Problems with Pioneer DVR A04/104

OK,so strictly speaking this isn't a PS2 problem but I would imagine there is a lot of A04 owners on this forum. The problem isn't copying. It backs up PS2 DVD's no probs using Primo DVD2 and Instant CD/DVD. The problem is when it's finished backing up. It seems to get an attitude problem. It won't eject dvd using button on front and sometimes won't eject using software eject either ( right click on drive icon and selecting eject ). It uses f/w 1.32. Does anyone else have this problem??

it could be that an application like direct cd has control of your drive or another udf application??

Yep, could be. I have direct CD installed for my CDRW burner so will try uninstalling it. Ta matey.............

When I installed my 104 I had exactly the same problem. If you have the Instant CD/DVD software like I have then go to My Computer -> Right Mouse Click on DVD-RW -> Properties -> Settings -> Check Automatic Finalization box and Show Finalize Dialog Box Before A Disc Is Ejected. This worked absolutely brilliantly for me. Before the draw wouldn't open and I had to restart my computer to get it to do so - Very Annoying! Just do this and you will have your problem solved. Obviously, if you have a disc which hasn't been finalized yet then it hasn't finished the writing process so the disc isn't going to eject. This is why you have to restart your system. Just follow the above solution and happy burning. Let us know how you get on and KEEP US POSTED! Thanks a lot...

P.S.: Do this even if you DON'T use Instant CD/DVD. It will work. I have living proof! :D

Yep. Have taken DirecCD off and checked automatic finalisation and DVR working fine now. Ta v.much for advice. Recently updated Firmware to 1.32 and was a bit worried I had knacked it up so am dead chuffed now. Thnx again...................
