Hi,

I am looking to buy a DVD-rom writer soon and was wondering what the good brands were. I am assuming that some brands are better than others based only on the pitance of knowledge I have with Cd-rom writers. I know that this doesn't have a lot to do with PC back-up copies, but I am sure that some of you probably know the answer I am looking for. Thank you so much for any help in advance. By the way the burner I was looking at is the:

HP DVD100i DVD+RW Drive (DVD+RW / CDR / CDRW) Internal IDE - Recertified

If you know anything about DVD-burner names I appriciate all the help. If you wish to e-mail me go ahead at claes_14**********com

Thanks a lot.

Don't get an HP they are crap. Get a Pioneer 104, A04, A05(available in a few days) or the new Sony Dru500A. The new Sony can burn all types of dvds including dvd-r and dvd+r. No other burner can do this yet.

No prob. If your considering an A04 check out Harmony Computers (http://www.harmonycomputers.com) very reliable, good prices and free shipping. They just dropped the price from $280 to $260. Of course I just bought one a week ago from them at $280.
