What kind of protection does Red Factoin have ?
When I used Clony it didn't find and protection, but then when I try to copy it with CloneCD it stuffs up:confused:

I don't remember exactly, but I think it was ProtectCD and CDChecks.
GCW info says it only has CDChecks, but I think this is wrong, at least the german version has additional protection.

Maybe..at least my copy (English version) had only CD-checks

i just copyed all the of the content off the 2 cd burnned them using the same cd titles and they worked fine for me. didn't even use a crack. i don't know if the new store version has protections now but when it first came out there was none.:)

i´ve cracked the american version
it has only a few api cd-checks
(Kernel32.GetDriveTypeA)...

I have english version and it only has cd checks. No safe disk,securom ect
well when you don't get any protection means that the cd has cd-checks or securerom new that is only scanned when you install the game.that's the protections i have seen only.all the others can be found with clonyxxl

@ lucifer. If i read your post right (sorry it was a little hard to understand) it dosent mean that the protection is ONLY in the installation. It means that some contries protection varies from others. ie a game may be protected in USA but have NONE in the UK. Some do use securom in installation and also in the exe of the game once installed into a dir but my vesion of red faction 2 only has cd checks and nothing else and i used clonyxxl and cd-killers scanner to determine this

Thats exactly what MY UK version has... i think everyone else here purchased car boot sale 'originals'... ;)
