View Full Version : Am I just screwed?

Well unfortunate me. I've got Halflife (PAL) and of course my ps2 can only read NTSC. And so trying to find a patch seems impossible since I'm only getting a NTSC to PAL convert. Am I blind or just screwed?

(I already wasted a CD btw trying to see if by some miracle it does read it, but instead it just flickers, still works, just that it's messed up on the screen)

Thanks in advance and apologies if I'm breaking any rules. I am not asking for anything, I'm wondering if there is one out there.

Yes.... They are out there BUT be warned..... They are expensive... The ones I have seen are in the neighborhood of $200-300 dollars (US)....

Sorry..... I read your post wrong... I thought you were looking for a PAL-NTSC convertor box....

No biggie. But does anyone know if the PAL to NTSC patch for Halflife does exist?

If the patch doesn't work you can play it on your PC monitor. I got a composite to VGA adapter for $10 at a PC shop.

Otherwise there are 2 different generic tools that try to convert the image to NTSC vmode. It has worked for me with a few...

If not mabe you can get ahold of the U.S. version...
