Is this crack for the updated/patched version of Emergency 2? After I apply the update, the crack no longer works.

its a bit confusing with the udapte

- open update in Winzip
- open file in update archive again with winzip
- extract this archive (contaons 3 files or so) to
emergency game dir
- now copy the cracked exe to emergency gamedir

tested with german verison, works fine ;)

I tried that... but maybe my original crack wasn't for the updated version. Because the patch replaces the exe file with the new updated version. So when you replace the file again with the cracked version, it just reverts to the old original verison of the game.

The reason I was updating is because almost every mission it will create little scrambled blocks of graphics, and then sometimes it will show only half of the video clips, and the bottom half is scrambled.

I have downloaded the Patch 1.0. This patch will update three files:

- Level\mission22.ELF
- Houses\Reichstag.eht
- Emergency2.exe

To remove the CD-check from the Emergency2.exe (Filesize: 1.335.296 Bytes !!) simply start the Crack.exe from Fl@sh. To get this Crack.exe download the file NO-CD_Crack_for_Emergency_2_Date_11.10.2002.ace from GCW.

Do NOT download the version "Date_18.10.2002" - this will NOT work with the patch above!!

The Crack.exe simply changes ONE BYTE in the Emergency2.exe: the byte at position h52C0 is changed from h84 in h85 - thats all.

If you can't download the crack.exe, try to change the byte by using a hex-editor.

But now one question:

Has anyone get the "ingame-music" to work without using the CD ??

I mean: is it possible to extract the audio-tracks from the CD and save it as .mp3- or .wav-files to the harddisc in such a way, the Emergency2.exe can FIND and PLAY it???

... maybe by creating a subfolder named 'music' or anything else ......

For whatever reason my release doesn't let me apply those cracks to the exe file. I've tried both cracks and neither works. Maybe its different for the German and the US releases. I got it to play without the CD using something that modifies the registery, but its not the newer version of the game.

And secondly, this game seems freaking hard. I still can't find the 3rd monkey in the 7th or 8th mission, whichever it is. I finally used a cheat and skipped levels. Anyknow know where the 3rd infected monkey is at?

I think, there is a different between the german and the US releases. Try to find an Emergency2.exe with the 'correct' filesize.

Unfortunately it isn't as easy to crack the English version as the German one. If you change tha values as described above, you get a "Wrong file size" error. I've tested to crack the german update myself, and it worked, but as I don't speak a single word of German, I don't have much use for it.

I have real nasty graphic problems without the patch, and assume that the patch will solve that problem. So if anyone have the English version of the updated .exe-file, please send it to me @ henricsson**********com.

I have the same problem.. video scrambles all the time. I've searched high and low for the crack for the English version, but can't find it. I work for a large retailer, and I was going to CloneCD it at work, but we don't carry it. :(

ANyone thats got a Matrox Grafixcard got a really nasty bug that looks up your computer when scrolling to the left. 2:nd patch is should probably solve this.

Anyone got it or a tools so that I could make a patch myself?

Use the update funtion on the game(IE in the startmenu). It will doenload two patches and install them. Don´t know if it fixes the Matrox-bug because I can´t test it. :-( Need the crack for that.

I can use the patches, but there hasn't been a crack for the English version yet with the patches applied. So until then.. you have to play it without the patches.
