Ok, we decided to go, thanx to BG's advice, with this Bill guy in Chicago. And since we need to purchase a mod chip first, we were poking around the net just looking for that one irresistable deal. Well we found this canadian site that is more expensive than others that says that the Magic2 chip they sell is some special Red version or something... That others selling Green ones and such are cheaper versions. Is there anything to this? or them just talking noise? Where would YOU purchase a mod chip from? Just curious ;)

The red versions of the chip seem to funtion at 100%... While the green versions have a couple of bugs...
I beleive Charlie_PS2 commented on this awhile back.... I'll see if I can dig up his post on this subject....:cool:

It outlines some of the bugs with the green Magic 2's and also has the test results from the red Magic 2's...

Have you determined what version PS2 you have?

You need to find this out BEFORE you purchase a Magic 2 so you can be sure you get the right one....

It is a 30001R with a 1c date thingie and a u1 serial... if I read correctly it makes it a version 4?

If it has the R at the end.... It "COULD" be a V4,V5 or V6.... Take a look at his website again and check...
