I installed the latest nero from the nero.com site, grabbed the latest aspi drivers, and updated my cd burner HP 8200e external USB burner (fresh install). When I run nero, it will not recognize my burner in the select nurner option.....
running win xp

my burner shows up in the nero supported list
I donwnloaded the aspi files also from nero + their CD database utility.....

the problem is that Nero sux
uninstall that piece of shit
then get CDRWIN
problem sloved
that's not a very helpful reply....I will use CDRWIN for BIN / CUE files, I'll use diskjuggler for ISO / CDI files, and I'll need NERO to burn data and VCD/SVCD files.......
so I guess my problem isn't solved:(

People chat shit here alot.
Then some just reek of it
That's funny.. I have been using Nero for years and have not had one problem. I guess it would be a shitty user problem, and not a Nero problem, if you think it's such a bad piece of software.

You should've gotten a TDK burner. I am not big fan of anything made by HP except maybe printers.

great help, he should have gotten a tdk
did you use a previous version of nero that recognized your burner? does windows recognize your burner? perhaps you should try disabling the built in burning properties of windows - just a thought.
the only other problem i could think of is that your burner is usb 2.0, and your usb ports arent. but i dont know if that would cause a recognition error.
