Just a simple, if silly, question:

Can you use a ps 2's dualshock 2 controller on a psx?

I was wondering, since I plan to reuse my old psx for psx games, to minimize wear and tear on my new ps 2 (they say it's bad for the machine's laser lens if you use it to play too many different formats too often).

Thanks

BTW, is the ps 2 game Oni in cd format? Some guy sold me a pirated copy of this game in a cd. There seems to be a humming sound coming from the ps 2 while I'm playing it. Could this be bad for the machine (although the ps 2 WAS designed to play cd's as well)?

Yes... You can use the controller in you PS1...

The NTSC version of ONI is cd based (Two discs)

Unsure of the PAL version...

Oh, shit!!!

The guy only gave me one disk!!!

Well, this either means that the fool had just sold me an incomplete game, or that it's one of those "ripped" cd's where they cram a dvd's data into a cd.

I've heard playing "rips" are bad for the machine. Is it true?

In any case, would it be too damaging for my machine to play it? Or would it be better to just leave this game out of my playing list?

That's two I owe you this time, BG!!! :)

As far as Playing Rips is concerned.....

I can't answer that....

I DON'T PLAY RIPS......PERIOD....

My personal opinion would be to leave it off your play list....

NOW...I know TylerDurden will see this and post....
I know Tyler...You play rips all the time....:p
