try d/l the px engine update, haven't got the link handy but search this forum for "veritas" and you should find it.
You can get the PXEngine update from here: PXEngine Download! (ftp://eval.veritas.com/downloads/pro/exe/PxEngineUpdate342.exe)
Here is the full link in case the one above does not work.

no dice gentlemen, any other advice i have the latest drivers also
OK....What Operating System are you using?
How do you have the drive connected?
What jumpers do you have the drive set on...?
xp pro
i have had it set on slave and on master, currently slave
it works on nero but not primodvd
ide primary
m- hard drive
s - dvd rom
2nd
m cd r/rw
s dvd+r/+rw
I believe it has to be set to master on 2nd IDE. Thats what I have read in the past.
Definately set your DVD writer on master....See if that takes care of the problem....If not, disconnect your cd-r drive and leave the A04 on a ide channel by itself and try that...
Let us know what works...
no go, the drive is just recognized as a dvd rom(always has been)
i have primo dvd 2.0749 is there a newer version, i have also update px engine to 342
btw it is a memorex drive
What is the exact model number of the drive...
Then, i'll do some research and see if i can figure out whats going on...
Try disconnecting the dvd rom drive from the primary ide, leaving the hard drive hard drive connected on it's own.
2 reasons hard drives should only be connected on the same ide channel and the dvd rom drive could be conflicting with dvd writer.
Argo.
memorex only has 1 dvd r/rw drive don't have the model off hand right now
I've just had a look at the MEMOREX HOME PAGE.
To get there just do a search under that heading.
There's a couple of links to there dvd-r drives under the products section which may help with the correct identification.
Also and perhaps more usefull they do have a technical support contact in there as well.
Why not just ask them if your drive supports the use of Prassi Primo DVD software, if anyone knows it will be them.
I have a twelve max cdr drive of there's which i had a question about and i did get a response.
Post back and let us all know how you go on.
Argo.
