Ok, I've got windows xp with a high spec machine (2.2GHz processor, 512 DDR Ram, 64mb GeForce4 Graphics.) I install a proper retail copy of black and white ok but when i try to run it i get the splach screen and then i get returned to the desktop. This is really annoying because my friend can get it to work fine on his windows xp pc. When I check the ea technical help thing where it tells u the system info, it tells me i do not have enough video ram which is stupid!!!

I have searched through other posts but nobody seems to be able to solve the problem. Does anyone know how to get it to run??

unwrap the exe with Safedisc 2 Cleaner... i think your problem is the Safedisc protection.
make sure you rename the sd2cleaned.exe to the original filename.

Why would the exe on the original disk need cracking with safedisc. My version is not a backup it is a 100% original.

There are issues with some CD Drives and SafeDisc. Hence use bools eye's tool.

Yes I have a AMD chip. Also a P4 in another PC. Why? That aint causing your problem.

my graphics cared is a GeForce4 MX440 64MB and i am not using an amd. I have a pentium 4 2.2ghz. I will try the safedisc cleaner thing but i do not understand why it would help with an original cd. If it was a backup i would understand.

I just tried the safedisc cleaner but it did not work. It said unable to unrap API!!! I really think it may be due to the fact that the EA diagnostics tool says my video memory is 1mb and so it will not let it run, it also says my cpu is -2000 or something and gives it a red cross!!!

Has anyone had a similar problem and found a way around it?

You are using a gf4? Hmm, have you activated "twin view" in the options panel? How much ram did you reserve for each of them?

hey, this could be interesting to me :)
can you send the exe to bools_eye2000********com please ?
maybe you'll have to compress it in multiple volumes as yahoo cannot handle attachments bigger than 2 MB.

I do not have the twin view option enabled. All my other games work fine aswell. This is really annoying!
