View Full Version : Neverwinter Loader Troubles

Whenever I open the game with the loader and attempt to host a server, it always times out just after I select "use premade character". It never lets me go on and play the game. Even when I try hosting a dedicated server, no one is able to join it (again, times out). Whats up with this?

BTW, I have tried it with all the versions from 1.0 to 1.25 and it does the same thing. Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Nobody else has this problem? All you do is plop the thing in the directory with nwmain.exe and execute it, right? There isn't anything else that needs to be done to the loader or nwmain.exe.

Can you give me the link to were you got the new nwn 1.25 or 1.26 beta no cd game patches .

I don't use a no cd patch. I bought the game (or rather my brother did) but, I wonder....does the loader expect or require a no cd patch to work properly?

Anyone have comments, suggestions, help on this?

Well i got the original cd and manual but for some reason certain games copy protection thing my cd-rom can't see the cd or something.
When i have the cd on the tray it keeps saying it's not in there.

Damn...i reverted to 1.24 and then applied the no-cd patch. Loader still didn't work (that F***ed my theory). :confused:

Come on guys, someone else must be having this problem & fixed it or gave up....which i'd rather not do. Even if you haven't had the problem, i'd appreciate any guesses. Thanx

Ok guys .. I found the solution ... I wonder how people won't help posting it here.

Just start the game using the Private Loader then when configuring your server (do it before load saved games), change the connection port to whatever you want .. I recomend 5000 (just because I use that one).

Voilá you are read to host a game.

I didn't tested it using the dedicated server so it's up to you do it and post here if it works.
