Has anyone come across a patch for Spiderman Pal. I've looked in the obvious places but only to find NTSC version.

Charlie me old chum, any ideas?

Maybe it's a knackered DVDR? Someone else in the forum had a problem with Spiderman and Memorex DVDR's exactly what I'm using....

Whilst your reading my message again, should I need a patch C?

I don't patch anything. One TV is multi-system so NTSC backups play OK; the other TV I run NTSC games through a Maplins NTSC - PAL convertor.

What about EA games?

When I copy them from CD, I use CloneCD to make 1:1 copies (with sub-channel data - see www.psxcopyworld.co.uk for parameters). Then no patches are necessary.

DVD games are not protected.

Spiderman is on DVD. The only reason that I can think of as to why it didn't work is that I copied it as MAX speed rather than *1.

Like I said I was using a memorex DVD so I thought being a branded blank DVD it would be ok to go MAX speed.

Do you think I should I try again on *1 speed?

So what happens when you try and boot it?

And yes - Memorex, definitely 1x but no promises that it'll work. 1x is a requirement for that and similar brands like Infinit and Princo.

Spidy does the initial "Playstation 2" logo (black screen with white text) then just displays a black screen.

I can hear the DVD spinning for a little while then it seems to lose interest.

I tried it on x1 speed, it does get futher into loading it but it still gets stuck trying to read the DVD later on before the game has loaded.

Any ideas?

Try using a Better brand of media.... If you slowed down the burning and the game loads farther than it did before.....Sounds like a media problem.....
