I am at this moment chipping my PS2 V4 PAL with the messiah chip and there are some differences between my chips and surrounding component positions with the pictures shown on the afore mentioned web page. has anyone else chipped their console regardless of the slight differences and been successful.
Oh! and any input on the green screen problem with DVD's and a RGB SCART cable?

yes m8 - i've found 2 diff v7 boards already! i was a bit spooked to find extra resistors - but hey - the experts say tis ok so go 4 it.
How hard is it to implement the messiah chip? I had to solder almost 1 year at school and I have some skills in electronics, but I donīt know if thats enough. A father of a friend is doing such things at his job. So if Iīm not capable of it, heīll do it. But its good to know.

You'll phuck up like the majority of the others, I regret to say.
There's a challenge laid down by someone who really has seen it all laid out on these forums!

Which chip is easy to implement, but has almost the same features as the messiah? Or isnīt there one?

There basically isn't one that is easy.....That has anywhere close to the same features.... The Messiah takes 23 wires.....If you look at the other chips (that are comparable) they ALSO have 23 wires...
So you either have to SETTLE FOR LESS, or get someone to install it that knows what they are doing, or try it yourself and risk screwing up....
