Charlie

Thanks for the PS2 at the bargain price. I've been glued to it all afternoon and evening so I guess that any sign of a social life out the window again now I have a working PS2 back in the house.

Good luck (think he might need it) with him round corner sorting my other unit out.

p.s superb meeting place today.

I'm delighted you're pleased. I went straight to Costco and bought a V7 PAL. Now I can do a few more experiments with the array of chips I've got here.

Anyway we'll see what state your v4 is in. We've got spares and wil let you know some time next week.

There's obviously no major rush for it, so if there's a queue I'm in no hurry.

Thanks again..

Earrr Charile whilst your working on my case.

I now have an easy question for you (makes pleasant change doesn't it?)

Where's the cheapest place to buy DVDR's in the high street?

Also a tested online source online?

If you can't tell me here please email me.

Thanks mate

I've asked Jeeves but he appears to be a little dumb on the letters DVDR. :D

It's all good for buying online, any ideas about highstreet shops.

It seems like the cheapest is probably Memorex at £30 for 5 @ PC World strangely enough.

Not ususally my first port of call for any cheap.

I was happy with bigpockets until one of my writers packed up! Long story short - I won't buy anything from them again.

121cdr are the best I know.

I did too Paul until recently. Everybody makes at effort selling the gear (and lets face it, bigpockets have quality gear at low prices with prompt deliveries!).

You can tell good customer service, at how that company deals with faulty goods. Some respond quickly (accepting the situation)and repair/replace the goods or refund your money.

Others like www.bigpockets.co.uk (a front for IT solutions) try to fob you off! Tell you one thing which meets with your satisfaction like (in my case) a replacement drive will be despatched by courier, please have the old drive ready for collection.

I soon realised when the courier never arrived. I was then told to return the drive by post (sent recorded delivery of course). To which I duely obliged. But unfortunately depite phone calls and false promises about a replacement drive been despatched that day (3x) I am still without my drive.

Now this is from a single order worth in excess of £600! I dread to think how they would act if I only spent 20 quid!

Craig, PM or e-mail me your name and order number(s) and dates I will phone them Monday and find out whats going on.

One bad apple shouldn't spoil the lot - or something like that :p

I don't know exactly how much business they get from this forum alone, but I'm sure that they will be concerned somewhat that they are getting some bad exposure.

As I say mail me if you want me to do this.
