No R at the end, but I thought that only indicated that it was a game pack console ie; it came with a free game in the box

Look on the bottom of your PS2 and see if there is a electrical warning stamped in the bottom....
If so: Its a V4
If not: Its a V3

The Magic 2 will work....You will need to know the date code to purchase the correct one....
The date code should start with either 1A 1B or 1C...Its located on the same sticker as the SCPH number....

Hey BG (or charlie) I'm still a little mixed up right now. Even though you told me if I have a electrical warning at the bottom of my PS2 it's a v4(which it does), I searched around the forum and in some post it said if the PS2 has 10 screws it's a v3 and mine has 10 screws. So given the infomation again could you tell me which version I have?

SCPH:30001
BAR CODE: PT11
SERIAL CODE: U16
DATE CODE: 1A
SCREWS: 10
ELEC WARNING: YES

Thanks for your help.
