i have an early modle of ps2 (not sure what version but it cost £300 quid in the uk, so it was a long time ago) it has a neo 2.2 and action replay (not the one with multi region dvd player)

i used to use the following double swap, hold reset button, click start game, swap dvd (FFX, bootdisk) wait 10 sec and when it stops spinning let go and insert dvdr.....anyway you know the script, but recently i've been getting to the 'insert original dvd and wait 10 secs bit and been haveing trouble...

i used to count to 10 in my head and boot dvdrs 9/10 times sucessfully, but now, you know the press witout codes and the cd should stop, well now it dosen't it just keeps spining.

i've tryed 7 secs, 8 secs 9 secs and 10 secs ( i've even used the stopwatch on my moble fone to make sure i'm getting the right amout of time it just keeps spining.

Any sugestions cause i've had to take onimusa 2 back to the vid store and now i'm pulling my hair out.

P.S. Sorry for the lenthy msg, but i had to make sure i did'nt mis any thing out.

Kind Regards

Protumour.

p.p.s i know my ps2 is old but that should affect the way the program runs...should it? (fails to stop cd spinning)

the original dvd game u are using to boot the back-up must have a larger TOC than the back-up.

I think this is ur problem

most ppl use Devil may cry as a dvd bootdisk because it has the largest TOC ( at present)

sollution...... Install messiah/magic 2! no swaps just insert the back-up and boot

Messiah & magic 2 rock! all other chips are crap in comparison.

the original (boot DVD) i use is either GTA3 or FFX, both are the maxium size (i think) i just wondered why the AR2 cd no longer stopps the CD from spinning.

I can't get a messiah/magic2 yet cause
1. i can't afford the £130 install (bowlers)
and
2. my mate got his new (ish) ps2 chipped with the messiah and the blue spinny thing on the browser just dosn't move anymore and hardly any of the DVDr backups i give him wont work even though they work(ed) on my 1 1/2 year old ps2 (Neo 2.2, the laser destroyer) (is there a special way to boot dvdr's on a no swap chip.

Anyway thanks for your input, as any input is greatly appresiated (i now my spelling's shite)

Thanks again, and anyone else??
