I have only backed up cd's with my mitsumi 4804te and clone cd, but i am looking at getting a dvd-r/rw so that i can backup PS2 games and DVD films. If anyone could put me onto a good dvd burner and the type of software to back up the above, that would help me very much.

Get a Pioneer A04.....
Then use Primo DVD to backup your PS2 games...
You can get Primo DVD HERE! (http://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk/Downloads.htm)
Also, what type of mod chip do you have to play dvd-r backups on your PS2?
DVD films are another story....... Films a generally to big to fit on a DVD-R if you do a 1:1 copy.....(because a dvd-r only holds 4.7gb) and films can run around 9gb because of all the extras and such.
So usually you have to rip out everything except just the movie to get it to fit.....

Yes, IT MATTERS A GREAT DEAL........

What version PS2 do you have? Is it a PAL, JAP, or US PS2...
Also look on the back of your PS2 at the sticker.....
Tell us what the scph-###### number is so we can determine what version it is.....
This way we can make the best recomendation for which mod chip you should get.....
