I have used clone cd to copy ps2 cd roms, and then used the knife method along with game shark 2 to swap the disc and play the game. It boots fine. I just bought a dvd burner. I used nero to make a copy of a dvd game, but using the same swap method, nothing happens. I've looked at both the original and the backup files on my pc and they look identical. Is it because I don't have a mod chip. If so, what would be the best modchip to by. I have a version 1. Am i supposed to patch the games before I burn them?
Thanks to anyone that can help!!!

Ver1. does not read DVD-R too well and definitly not DVD+R's..Sorry..No modchips in the world is gonna make a difference..And knife swap is putting Early grave on your PS2 soon, so that could be another sign of not reading the DVD+R. In the long run you might need to buy Brand new laser or a Brand new Ps2..You should of just bought a Modchip from the begining instead of trying to save $$$$ and doing a swap trick..Now you might have to spend more by getting a modchip and a Ps2 or a Brand new laser..Look for Tomorrow not just whatever is front of you Today..Meaning saving cash in the long run instead of saving now..
