Hi Guys,

Wonder if anyone can help me, I've just bought a CD-RW and also CD-R Discs and a Pack of CD-RW Discs..

Problem is.....

When I write to a CD-R Disc all is fine no problems! BUT trying to write to the CD-RW discs is a real nightmare!

lets see:

I can write to CDRW discs but then when i try and play it, my stereo, tv etc says "NO DISC" so it doesn't reconise data...

along with that, when i put it in to RE-WRITE it doesn't allow me to.....

even deleting the files that it 'says' is on it doesn't work, because it says: "Cannot Delete Track-01.cda: Files on this CD-ROM drive are read-only. You cannot copy or remove files over to this CD-ROM drive."

any idea's? i've only had it 2 days so i'm not very clued up with CDRWs

Oh, the program i am using to do all this is Nero.

Anyone who can help, i'll be greatful :D

Thanks

1) Not all standalone players are able to handle cd-rw
2) If you closed the disc you cannot add something to it.

You have to erase the disk and then you can write on it again (in this case)

Ok there's nothing wrong with your hardware or media. You just have to understand a few principles.

1) Most hi-fi's etc cannot recognise CD-RW - they can only read CD-R's. You can however buy hi-fi that can recognise re-writables.

2) When you want to erase a disk you cannot just delete the files from Windows Explorer (unless you are using a Packet Writing software).
To erase the disk, start up Nero and click on the Recorder menu at the top at click erase CD-rewritable. A then do a quick format.

In Nero it can be found at (I am german, so I don't know how things are called in the english version!) "Recorder --> Erase or Format ReWritable"

Have you finalised the cd?

When you burn the cd, make sure finalise cd is checked.
