NEO 2 Problems! [Archive]

Hey guys, just had the PS2 chipped withe NEO2 chip, I have Action Replay 2 v1.3 so have to boot copies by holding down reset until main screen loads on Action Replay, I have just bought 12 games, 2 of which I can get to work (Smugglers Run 2 and Police 24/7) All the other games stick on a black screen immediately or crash after showing the game developer logo for the game. I am thinking its the copies that are bad, but was assured they were all tested before being sent to me. Has anyone else had this problem? As I don't know whether to blame the copies or the chip!

Any help very gratefully received ;)

I have always had bad luck with backups purchased on the web.

the person u got them from how well do u know him can he b trusted what disks r they burned on
maybe he tested them on messiah
if they r ntsc games u have pal mc or vice versa they would boot on the messiah but fail on the neo

Yeah Warlock I think its the copies that are bad, surely if the chip was faulty it wouldn't let some work, and the rest crash near the very start. I have 'The Thing' and it crashes on the 3rd cutscene into the game just as you enter the first building. It has to be the copies, I need to get a better supplier ;)

Hi Dust, the guy reckons they play fine on his, and uses them all the time, he also uses the NEO 2 Chip, but uses Action Replay V2 version 2. Do you think it could be that? I don't think so though, because the games do boot, just crash damn early...

And u r right if the game load but crash at the beginning than I reackon its the game.Nothing wrong with the chip.That guy who sold u the game is lying to u.I have the same game like u have and I have no trouble with it.Sometime there do have bad burn................

Thanks for the advice Andex, I will find out for definite tomorrow, I have leant the games to a mate who has the Messiah chip and asked him to tell me where they crash on his, if they crash the same, it is definitely the games and I am going to have a big arguement wuth my games dealer on my hands!
