sound problem

hi all
i have a problem with my sound what happens is that its very muffled and i cant understand anything for example in counter strike i can hear everything fine but when i shoot its boooof boof instead of BANG! and i can hear the shell hit the ground better than my gun shooting and when i walk its gay aswell. i have a new comp aswell (this is the new comp wit the problem)

A little bit more info on your comp's specs would be nice but anyway it sounds like a driver problem of your soundcard. Be sure to have the latest drivers and check if they are compatible with directx.
