magic 2/magic 2 hybrid, questions [Archive]

does magic 2, make ur ps2 multi-region for all dvd-movies?
do u still need the Ar2/Gameshark/regionX ??

getting a v7 pal installed with a magic 2 hybrid chip.. what the hell is that?
I'm told it will function the same as magic 2 but isn't actually a magic 2..

any thoughts?

Hybrid chip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!never hear of it..I guess it just another clone......Do u know what its look like?

I asked if it was a clone... was told "no its a hybrid"

because I am getting the console back with it installed I wont be able to take a photo of the chip itself.

**** it I want to know so.......... I'll open it at somestage and post a pic for identification by u guys.

This is a copy and paste from the Magic 2 website! (http://www.china-magic.com)
- There is a restriction on the Magic 2 v7 applicable to PAL PS2s whereby it can only play PS1 games for the same region as the PS2. So a PAL v7 can only play PAL PS1 games (30002/3/4 are interchangeable in this regard).
You don't need AR2 or Gameshark to boot games BUT i'm unsure about the movie end of it.... Since I haven't heard of the Magic 2 hybrid....
When you get some more info on the hybrid, please post here so we can see what is going on with this new chip.....:cool:
