can i boot dvd-r games? (eventually adding a no solder with neo)

You can play dvd-rs on a v5 but you cannot boot them with the mega memmory 16 small cd..(at least there is no way that i'm aware of) although you can boot cd-rs through it. I have a v4 with a neo 2.2 installed and i boot dvd-rs with AR2 using the double swap method.

u can do it with that version but there's no way of booting dvd-rs with a neo+ AR (any version) on ps2 ver 5,6 and 7? (without no solder, i think) I saw many posts about that, i guess megamem=AR:(

I am 99% sure that u can boot dvd-r on a v5 with a neo 2.2 so try the following procedure and tell me if it works...

Load AR2 CD1
First Selection-Screen appears
Press "EJECT" (short) to open DVD-Tray
Swap AR2 CD1 for orignal PS2 DVD-Game with large TOC (Devil May Cry is
perfect)
Press "EJECT" (short) to close tray
activate Cheatcode for "Dave Mira BMX"
Select "START GAME"
Select "WITH CODES"
Press "X" to confirm third menu
Error-message "Too many Codes" appears
Return to Mainmenu by presssing "O" on Joypad for several times
Select "START GAME"
Select "Without Codes"
Press "EJECT" for 2 Seconds
DVD-Tray opens a little bit faster than normal
Swap original PS2 DVD-Game for PS2 DVD-R (you've got 6 Seconds)
Tray closes by itself
Press "X" on Joypad
PS2 DVD-R Backup starts loading

just two questions: did u have already tried on a v5?
Could it boot with megamem too?
if u're right, we have some news here...an expert (which installs messiah every day) told me that it's impossible boot dvd-rs on v5 and 6 if u have a neo2.2

filippos, sorry, read this (it was posted by andex and not for the first time):

Agree with dust2dust and Yes u can remod ur ps2 with the messiah and boot up without the AR2.Beside u can even boot up the dvd-r game with no problem.At the moment with u got neo 2.2 on ur V5 board u won't be able to boot any dvd-r game so u gaining

A neo 2.2 will NOT boot dvd-r on a v5 or better console.
