chickened out

i took it apart and chickened out but now it doesnt work, the eject button does not light up but the reset works it turns red and when i push the eject button it turns on the fan and the reset button turns green. i check the ribbon with a meter and even swap ends. could it be someting with the internal battery being unpluged?

i havent, i order a ribbon i hope that works,

How far in pulling the PS2 apart did you get?

Did you remove any screws and not put them back from where they come from? Could they or something else be shorting out somewhere inside?

Not that I remember what my ribbon looks like but is it fitted with the correct side (if there is one) facing the correct direction? or any trapped wires anywhere?

Or just make sure that the ribbon is properly located in the sockets where it ends.

Did you unplug the fan?

Being that you've buzzed the ribbon I'd be surprised if your new one will solve the problem.
