Magic 2 V5 CLOBE Test results

Lik-Sang kindly sent me a number of modchips to test and here is my report on the Magic 2 v5 Clone (green pcb).

INSTALLATION
1 hour + glue drying time + assembly/disassembly

Z wire NOT attached; mounting on side of metal case.

OK DOA2 (DVD NTSC JAP)

OK Wipeout Fusion (DVD-R PAL)
OK EA NBA Street (CD-R, NTSC-US)
OK Twisted Metal Black (CD-R, Kalisto Rip)

OK FF IX (CD NTSC-JAP)

DVD MOVIE (Long RESET)
OK In Region movie - no skipping nor sound distortion
OK NTSC US movie booted with AR2/v2.0 - ditto no problems

Hi Charlie
Just wondering about ur test on V5 board
Is ur test in dvd movie in full color or did it need the color fix??
About the AR2/V2.0 did u need to do any alteration on the board or just wire according to diagram??

As u know I been test on V5 as well but somehow I cant manage to get the AR 2 to work.
Your info will be much helpful to me and the other..

Andex,

On one TV (non-multi-system) I put the Region 1 movie signal through an NTSC-PAL convertor for 100% good colour. On the multiystem TV everything played in right colour and dimension.

For AR2/v2.0 no Z wire was attached. When it was attached, it stopped the disk tray from closing under EJECT button control.

I have try to get hold of ps2 V3 and V4 so I can have a go on my magic 2 clone but so far I have no luck.I just wondering if u know anybody that have V3 board or V4???
