View Full Version : Best Ps2 Dvd-r's
Whats the best dvdr's and whats the best speed to burn them at?
We all know Tdk and Sony are the best, then you have memorex and, verbatim. I want to know companies like:
-Princo (tawain dvdr's being sold)
-Legal
-Ritek (i think its called)
I know not to mess with the UNNAMED brand ones because those are garbage and you dont want to burn ps2 games on those am i correct?
whats the best speed to burn at? is 1x more reliable with the game being burned onto a princo or the lesser named brands? or is 2x just the same and as good.
I was thinking about buying lesser brand names like princo for my dvd movie copies and using tdks for my more important ps2 games. Just like to know all your advice with these products and if it really makes a difference here.
Burner I have: Pioneer A04
by the way whats the BEST dvd burner software out there? and where would i be able to find it online? Ill post that in another post as well, thanks peeps, appreciate it.

Princos have been known to work well. Some good software to use is Prassi Primo Dvd (comes with retail A04 drive) or Nero burning rom.

You are thinking along the right lines.
I use seperate media for PS2 and DVD movie.
PS2 - Traxdata DVD-R burnt at 1x has not failed me (or a few others here) yet.
DVD - cheaper branded media works fine on my player.
XmemphistoX has told you the best burning software, you could also try Stomp Record Now Max. You can grab Primo DVD and Nero from www.psxcopyworld.co.uk

Have been writing at 2X and so far is 100%. But still I recomanded to write at 1X
thanks for the info just wish i could get my hands on some taxdata blanks i live in the US never heard of them i looked on ebay with no luck. how much are they compared to tdk in the uk? lot cheaper by a 1 pound would u say? would u compare them to being like Princo in the Us? trying to compare it to something. thanks
Not sure about princo dvd-r.Personally I never use it.Some other member in this forum may have some comment on this media
As the pirce wise Traxdata 2X is the cheapest that I can find at £1.25per media. The next is gen 4 at 2X which is around £0.99 per media.I beliave TDK is a lot expansive than this 2 media and of cause Verbatim the best of the lot and the last I hear is around £3.50 per media
