Hi,

I was surfing on the net and a few times found files that were meaned to be working PS2-boot discs for backups- and import- games. Some of them were about 50MB others about 2-3MB. They were even meaned to be work whithout a Mod-chip. First of all I want to know if it's possible without a mod-chip and if I need a Action-Replay instead or if I only need this cd? And if it's working why my Pal PS2 can't read any of them(I found about 5 driffrent)? Perhaps I used the wrong options in CDRwin. And if it's not working can anyone tell me a method to play backups whithout a mod-chip that works? Cause my PS2 is nearly new and I don't want it to be opened. Hope anyone can answer some of my questions and sorry if my English sounds a little strange because I'm from Germany.

The good thing to come out of it is that you have 5 new shiny coasters that you can use around your house. :p

There is no PS2 boot CD, full stop. The ones on kazza etc are fakes.

The only method to play backups without a mod is to jam a knife in the tray area, also known as the knife trick. You will do more damage by doing this than installing a mod chip. Its not going to stop working just because it has been opened, it's more likely to stop working by using the knife trick.

As psx_paul say knife trick is the only option without mod chip..
But let me tell u a story:
A week ago my friend get a ps2 v5 board and decided to use knife trick with AR2 (which cost him £30.00)and boot the back up game without mod chip so he can save couple of £££££.Couple of days later he sold his ps2 for £50.00 because he damage the try..

So ask yourself its worth it!!!
GET A MOD CHIP Its worth very penny...
