can anyone tell me please if i get my psx2 chipped will it play vcds that have been converted from divx onto cdr?

You can use Playstation..Not PSone..You need VCD adapter for the playstation. Besides Sony made it clear that PS2 will not play VCD's..

There is a way to make a maximum of 5 minutes worth of vcd to play on a PS2 but it requires a lot of time and effort and encoding. Just not worth it.

Actually the PSONE will play VCD's as well. There was a VCD card that was about 24 wires to solder and a clip that connects on the SMT.

Too much hassle to go through just for VCD's..

Maybe, but I considered it many times over. The idea of going on a road trip to Las Vegas and watching one of the library of movies I have was almost irresistable.

Ps2 will play VCD, mp3 and Div-X, via the network adapter connected directly with your PC or Mac
